Selective Service Seeks Board Members

The Selective Service System (SSS) is seeking applicants to serve as members of the SSS Boards. Currently, there is no plan to begin inducting young men into military service, however, First Selectman has been requested by the state’s Selective Service System to solicit volunteers to serve on a board should a military draft ever be reinstated.

Local SSS boards would be responsible for granting exemptions to induction based upon conscientious objection, hardship to dependants, etc.
