One of the goals of the Sustainable CT movement is to create and promote a more open and equitable community, to build and strengthen municipal processes to be more inclusive of all community members now and in the future.

The Sustainable CT group, working in conjunction with Newtown Center for Support and Wellness, Friends of Newtown Seniors, and Newtown Senior Center, has organized Senior Day at the Farmers Market at Fairfield Hills, to take place Tuesday, August 14 (rain date is August 21), from 2 to 6 pm.

Transportation to and from Newtown Senior Center, 14 Riverside Road, and Nunnawauk Meadows Community Building, 50 Nunnawauk Road, will be available by calling the senior center at 203-270-4310. Reusable bags will be provided.

Sustainable CT also promotes the Buy Local program and Healthy Eating.

The Farmers Market at Fairfield Hills is presented on Tuesday afternoons, 2 to 6 pm, until mid-October. Vendors set up on the grass along Keating Farm Avenue, just north of the main entrance of the campus off Wasserman Way. Parking is available to the immediate north of the market.
