Occupation: I'm a realtor at Coldwell Banker in Newtown. I've been in real estate for 11 years, and I started with my father-in-law, who owned Bob Tendler Real Estate. What drew me to real estate is the opportunity to grow your own business. You get to know a lot of people and be part of this positive fabric in town. From that, you get a lot of opportunities to serve on boards and volunteer and really make a difference where you live. I'm an elected police commissioner in town. Also, through real estate we do a small business promotion platform called Deals Around My Town. I love small business, because I think real estate and small business are very intertwined. When small businesses do well, people want to go to the restaurants and use the services. People who frequent small businesses want to buy houses around there and live in town. That's why we saw a need to provide support for small businesses. It's all of our responsibility to do something positive here.

Family: My wife Jessica grew up here, her maiden name is Tendler. I have a daughter, Emily, who turned 8 years old on July 5, and my son Ian just turned 5 years old. They both go to Middle Gate Elementary School, where my wife is very involved and spends a lot of time helping out at the school. She will be PTA president next year, and we're all very proud of her. She's a really devoted mother and Newtown resident.

Pets: We have a ferocious schnauzer poodle mix named Charlie, who 9 years old. Charlie is only about 20 pounds and is a little fur-ball.

My wife was born and raised in Newtown, and I'm originally from Philadelphia. We've been living here for 11 years, since I got into real estate. It was an easy integration moving here. How long have you lived in Newtown?

What do you like to do in your free time? I spend time with family as much as I can. I also go to CrossFit Hook'd. That place has been incredible.

What is your favorite book? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. The book is a metaphor for life about how you have to keep pushing, keep going. It's about how you make your own luck.

What is your favorite travel destination? Anywhere tropical or warm when it's winter here. We went to Jamaica this past winter and will head back there. It was a blast.

What is the best part about Newtown? You are in a relatively educated citizenship of people who genuinely care about each other. Even before 12/14, Newtown has always been a kind place to live.

Who have been the greatest influences in your life? My parents. To witness your parents go through trials and tribulations and to see the choices they made to become better and to get through - that's what I think sits with you as a child. It helps you grow up and learn how to approach life.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? John D. Rockefeller or people from that era that built America. I would want to know what their vision was before they made it big and ask them what did they see that others didn't?

What is your favorite food? Everything delicious.

What is something you cannot live without? Working out.

Do you have a favorite TV show? I usually just watch TV during football season.

What is your favorite sports team? The Philadelphia Eagles.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Don't act precipitously. I remember hearing that from my grandfather.
