Occupation: I am an elementary school principal at Osborn Hill School in Fairfield. I've been an administrator since 1995, and before that I taught for 11 years. I've taught everything from kindergarten through fifth grade math to K-12 social studies.

Family: My wife Suzanne and I have been married for 27 years. Our oldest son Timmy is 25 and lives in Nashville, Tenn. He works for the CTK Corporation, which is Dolly Parton's management team. He went to Emerson College for sound and post audio production and is loving doing that down there. Our youngest son Chris is 23 and is attending Western Connecticut State University. He is in the honors program for biology.

Pets: We have a cat, Bianca, who loves Chris. We also have two bichons, Sammy and Charlie, that we love. Charlie was a "clearance" dog - he was a purebred on sale - and Sammy is a rescue.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Twenty-one years. Before that we lived in Norwalk, and we knew we wanted to have more of a town feel. We were always driving up Route 25 to Newtown and just fell in love with it.

What do you like to do in your free time? Whatever my wife tells me to do. I also love to junk shop - going to Goodwill and tag sales, getting tchotchkes. It's an addiction.

Do you have a favorite author? Sinclair Lewis. He was an unbelievable writer from the early half of the 20th Century. He wrote Dodsworth, Babbitt, Main Street, and Cass Timberlane. I also love to collect any bestseller that became a famous movie like Now, Voyager or Peyton Place. Even if they were trash novels, I love reading them.

What is your favorite travel destination? Cape Cod. I've been going there since I was little. My dad was a teacher, and we'd take a week to go there in the summer. Suzanne's family did the same and now we've been going there with our boys since they were babies.

What is the best part about Newtown? Oh, so many things. It's a small town even though it's the biggest town in Fairfield County. It's a kind and caring place with great schools, loving families, and traditions.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My father, Ralph Arnone, Jr. He died when he was 43, but he touched more lives than anyone I've ever seen. He was an all-around nice guy. He was a teacher, administrator, coach - I thought, if dad's going to be a teacher than I'm going to be a teacher.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would you choose and why? I would want to go back in time to be with my father, my mother, and all of my old Italian grandparents and family for Christmas Eve dinner at my Aunt Julia's house. I'd want to bring Suzanne, Timmy, and Chris, so they could all see the craziness that went on.

What is your favorite musical genre? Motown. Also, my wife has taught me to love jazz, and I love musicals.

Do you have a favorite TV show? I Love Lucy, The Partridge Family, and Downton Abbey.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? My next-door neighbor, Mrs Drinkwater, was like a second mother to me and helped take care of my dad when he was dying. I remember she always said, "Be true to yourself" and "Be kind."

What is something you cannot live without? My family. And junk shopping.

What is your proudest accomplishment? My marriage with Suzanne and our boys Timmy and Chris.
