Occupation: I’m an accountant. I work for New Castle Hotels in Shelton. We own, operate, and develop hotels in North America.

Family: My wife Barbara and I have been married 33 years, come August. We have two sons, both out of college and moved on. Bill is a computer consultant in Virginia, and David is in Boston. He works in the music concert industry.

Pets: We have a dog, Rudy. He’s a mix. He just showed up at my sister’s house, abandoned, and we took him in.

How long have you lived here? We’ve been in Sandy Hook for 21 years. We came here from Stratford.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to golf… somewhat erratically. I’m involved in the Lions Club, where I was recently named president. We like to go to movies, especially the independent films at Bethel Cinema. We like the film festivals. It’s nice to see things that are a little offbeat.

Do you have a favorite film? It would probably be a tie between The Wizard of Oz and Casablanca. Those would be the two.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I like going to the beach. I spend a lot of time in the water, rather than on the beach, though. We came back from a cruise to Bermuda this spring. It was nice to get away.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I like our neighborhood, and the sense of community. It’s always been a very welcoming place. I think that extends through to other people you meet in the town. It’s been a great place for our kids to grow up.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? One of the early people I worked for. It wasn’t what he did particularly for me, but how he carried himself. He was a very positive person and very insightful. I think if you are positive and try to work through a problem it is better than trying to force your way through.

Did you have a favorite toy, growing up? I would have to say my bicycle. We used to spend a lot of time on our bikes and travel around to different places. And I still have one today.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? The one thing we are heavily into is Patriot football. We probably spend more time reading about the Patriots and going to games than is healthy!
