The “wintry mix” started as a gentle snowfall around 9:30 am on Tuesday, February 12. Just before noon came a steadier snow already collecting on the ground. Plows rumbled along town streets and many people briskly brushed off their windshields, leaving work early. Forecasts called for more snow/rain through Wednesday morning.
“Winter storm Maya will hammer Northeast with snow, ice through Wednesday,” according to one headline on weather.com. The online news report warned of slick roads as ice turns to rain, and possible power outages.
