The CIAC, on November 3, released the state tournament brackets for girls' and boys' soccer, girls' volleyball, and field hockey. Three Newtown High teams will be home for opening-round contests. All times are subject to change; check the ciac tourney webpage

Boys' soccer (Class LL): First round, Monday, November 6, No. 4 Newtown vs No. 29 Fairfield Warde, Blue & Gold Stadium, 4 pm.

Girls' soccer (Class LL): First round bye; second round, Thursday, November 9, No. 3 Newtown vs winner of No. 14 NFA and No. 19 Wilton, Blue & Gold, 2 pm.

Girls' volleyball (Class LL): First round, Monday, November 6, No. 9 Newtown vs No. 24 NFA, NHS gymnasium, 5 pm.

Field hockey (Class L): Qualifying round, Monday, November 6, No. 19 Newtown at No. 14 Southington, 2 pm.
