Stephen Walter

Stephen A. "Steve" Walter, 67, of Danbury died January 28. He was born in Muncy, Penn., son of Betty (Kramer) and Daniel Walter.

Mr Walter proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1974. He then came to work in Newtown for Hubbell Plastics where he was a machine mechanic while raising his family in Southbury. He enjoyed woodcarving, studying history, and took great joy in assisting his son's Boy Scout Troop as the advancement chairman.

His son, Matthew of Danbury; his daughter, Kimberly Walter Klein of Thornton, Colo.; and his former wife, Katherine Walter of Danbury, survive him. Mr Walter was proud of his grandchildren, Logan Walter, Nicholas Berlingo, Grace Berlingo, and Anthony Berlingo.

His brother, Robert Walter, predeceased him.

A visitation and funeral services for Mr Walter were February 3 at Green Funeral Home, Danbury.
