Storm Cleanup Progress Made

According to the latest update from town officials, residents are regaining their electrical supplies and roads continue to reopen following the strong rain and wind storm that moved through the region during the Sunday-Monday overnight.the high of 1,500 Eversource customers reported to not have power as of 5 pm Monday, October 30.

As of 9:45 Tuesday morning, according to an e-mail from the town, 425 power outages still remained in town.

In addition, just two town roads remain unopened, down from the 27 roads that were closed or only partially passable as of late Monday afternoon.

"Public works and Eversource crews continued work through the night," the e-mail from the town reported on Tuesday, October 31. "Much work remains to fully clean up trees and debris from roads, but all roads are passable except for Gray's Plain and Rowledge Pond.

"All crews will continue work throughout the day," the note continued. "Thank you for your patience with the make safe and restoration processes. Please be safe, but enjoy Halloween activity."
