Support Health Care Security Act

To the Editor:

The Connecticut Health Care Security Act is a proposed house bill introduced by Representatives Chris Donovan (84th), Nancy Beals (88th), John Geragosian (25th), Denise Merrill (54th), Bob Megna (97th), and Richard Roy (119th). If passed, this bill would provide universal health insurance to all Connecticut residents, allow free choice of any licensed health care giver, return medical decision making to health care givers and their patients, and lower health care costs.

The bill is currently under consideration by the Public Health Committee of the Connecticut State Legislature. Members of this committee need to know that citizens want this bill raised for a public hearing. Please write or speak to the chairs and the members of the Public Health Committee and the Democratic leadership of both the House and Senate. Let them know you support a public hearing of PHB 5872 in order to learn how Connecticut can have universal health care while decreasing health care costs. The Committee has until February 8th to raise this bill. Please contact legislators now. Make your voice heard.
