Talented Trio Will ‘Shine’ At Love & Knishes June 29

SOUTHBURY — Let Your Light Shine, a trio featuring vocalists Claudia and Bob Hughes and Mark Templeton, a well-known pianist and arranger, will be featured at the Love & Knishes lunch on Wednesday, June 29, at noon. The trio will show off an eclectic mix from their repertoire, with duets in all genres including Broadway, classical, opera, and pop.

Claudia Hughes has been a professional singer for many years, performing both as a soloist and lead singer in numerous bands and musical settings in the area, including, most recently, First Thursdays at the Mattatuck Museum. Bob Hughes performs with the Connecticut Choral Society and its a capella subgroup, the Chamber Singers.

Mark Templeton of Bethlehem has been playing piano professionally for more than 30 years. He has toured and performed with jazz legends Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Shaw, Clark Terry, Kenny Garrett, and Frank Foster, in addition to performing at many international jazz festivals.

His arranging and recording credits include Major League Baseball, Hall & Oates, PBS, and Wishbone Ash. He currently performs as the lead keyboard player with the very popular Beatlemania tour and also leads the Mark Templeton Jazz Trio.

Lunch, which is prepared by the award-winning Jordan Caterers of Cheshire, is served at noon and followed by entertainment at 1 pm in the Jewish Federation’s social hall at 444 Main Street North. The public is welcome, and there is a suggested lunch donation of $7.50 for adults age 60 and better and $9.50 for those under 60.
