Time To Move Ahead

To the Editor:

As a lifelong resident of Newtown, I have been very interested in what happens at Fairfield Hills. I attended every meeting of the Fairfield Hills Advisory Committee, which took place almost weekly for an entire year.

The committee has presented a well thought out and much discussed master plan that takes care of our immediate needs, i.e. open space, playing fields, and a town hall that will hold all town offices in the same location. It also allows for some flexibility for future uses and possible revenue generation to help take some of the burden of these deteriorated buildings off of the taxpayers.

As voters, we have already approved funds for the property purchase, ball fields and a town hall. Now is it time to vote to approve this master plan and move ahead, not vote against it and start all over again.
