More than ever, we need maturity and experience to represent us in Hartford. We need someone with more than 16 years tenure serving as chairman of numerous boards and commissions within our town. Will Rodgers is currently the chairman of our Legislative Council and while we need him in Newtown, we need him more in Hartford.

Will is not a populist, nor is he a “yes” man. With Will, what you see is what you get. He is as honest as the day is long. He has drafted ordinances and worked closely with representatives in Hartford for many years. His years as an attorney are a valuable asset in understanding the nuances of legislation. Will’s decades of service in the Marines has taught him to assess situations methodically and build consensus rather than bursting onto the scene expecting it all just to happen. He is able to handle differing opinions in a mature fashion.

As a taxpayer, I appreciate the fact that Will has used public financing to a positive end in his campaign. He has highlighted his own strengths and experience without degradation or falsities with regard to his opponent. I think this speaks volumes.

I wish both candidates luck in the election,

Sarah Beier
