Girls U13

Flash 2, South Windsor 1 (State Cup) – Stephanie Roman scored a goal, assisted by Lyndsey Pearlman, as the Flash trimmed South Windsor in a shootout in State Cup action. Emily Brisson was spectacular in goal with good support defensively by Kyra Murray, Julia Trudell and Abby Blakeman. Lydia Beiter covered the midfield handily. In the shootout, Katie Shirley did not allow a goal.

Girls U12

Westport 4, Jaguars 1 – Although the Jaguars fell in their opener, stellar play was seen in the midfield by Lindsay Jagoe, Shannon O’Gorman, Serena Kiss and Katherine Clark. Emily Peters knocked in the goal off of a beautiful pass from Karlie Kuligowski.

Newington 2, Jaguars 0 (State Cup) – The Jaguars were shut out in their State Cup game even though Kacey Caplan, Angela Halili, Sally Martinelli and Gabrielle DeBartolomeo applied tremendous pressure on the opposing goalie. Abi Kuligowski and Taylor Zingaro shined on defense to keep the score close.

Stamford 1, Jaguars 1 – With Tess Murray controlling the backline and Danielle Shine making several tremendous saves in goal, the Jaguars emerged with a hard fought tie. The move of Taylor Brady to striker immediately paid dividends as she punched in a goal through heavy traffic.

Boys U12

New Fairfield 4, Beasts 2 – Matt Mossbarger and Grant Ricketts scored goals and Jonah Muniz provided an assist in a loss to New Fairfield. Owen Gaston and Austin Raftery made many good saves in goal.

Boys U11

Fairfield 6, White Lightning 1 – Jeremy Doski scored the lone Newtown goal off an assist from Luca Imbimbo. Ryan King played very aggressive in the striker spot as did Anthony Vournazos, both had several opportunities but they were unable to convert. Kevin Droniak was solid on defense as was Knute Johnson and Kaj Djonne.

Girls U11

Westport 4, Lightning 0 – Despite strong starts in each half, the Newtown girls were unable to convert any of their shots into goals as they suffered a tough loss to Westport. Kate Fallon and Shelby Tolla played solid in the midfield, while Meaghan Brophy was strong on D. Lightning goalkeepers Amy Martinelli and Dale Shearin both performed well.

Boys U10

Stamford White 5, Strikers 2 – Bryce Mather and Alex Gerbo scored one goal apiece in the Striker’s loss to Stamford. Cole Rogalin and Chris Healy also played well offensively for Newtown. Paul O’Leary and James Carney kept Newtown close with outstanding efforts in goal, with O’Leary blocking a penalty shot in the first half.

Trumbull Blue Dragons 5, Strikers 1 – James Carney scored the lone goal for Newtown in their outing against the Blue Dragons. Chris Healy and Cole Rogalin kept the pressure on offensively, while Michael O’Keefe, Alex Gerbo and Josh Houle anchored the defense. Robby Schreiber had a good overall game for the Strikers.

Girls U10

Trumbull 4, Comets 2 – Kelsey Muniz and Casey Harkins netted one goal apiece with assists from Katie Mossbarger and Kim Brello. Alana Murray kept the ball in the Comets zone at mid while Haley Trudell and Madeline Sieber kept the Trumbull attack at bay. Emily Charash made four saves in goal.

Greenwich 5, Comets 1 – Katie Mossbarger scored the lone goal off an assist by Casey Harkins to get the Comets on the board. Mikayla Kuligowski, Alyssa Ruefenacht and Brenna Kelly were ferocious on defense and Sarah Lyon and Portia Baudisch had two steals apiece. Julia Schoeni made 5 saves tending the net.

Stamford 5, Comets 1 – Casey Harkins scored the goal with an assist from Kelsey Muniz and Alyssa Ruefenacht. Alana Murray and Madeline Sieber controlled possession of the ball throughout the game. Kim Brello beat out the opponent on three chases and Haley Trudell was aggressive on defense.

Girls U14

Turf Trashers 4, Pumas 0 – Emma Iannini scored two goals and Jane Sclafani had a goal and an assist as the Turf Trashers recorded the win. Emily Albrecht also scored and Rachel Rode had an assist. For the Pumas, Haley Dunn and Alessandra Lalli had strong games on offense. Aspen Kraushaar and Courtney Yapp played well on defense.

Boys U14

Boots 2, Strykerz 1 – Eric Pisani had a goal and an assist and Chris Arnone netted a goal for Boots with strong offense from Nick Norberg and Christian Barrett providing a solid midfield. For the Strykerz, Chad Cullens scored the goal as Charlie Poarch and Ethan Perkus kept up the offensive pressure. Thomas Meier and Ian Lew anchored the defense.

AT&T 3, Boots 3 – Gavin Scallon scored two goals and Will Carr added one to lead AT&T. Tim Kelly was solid in goal and Patrick Haggerty led a tough defense . For Boots, Stephen Jarvis notched the hat trick as Henry Summ was very active on the wing. Luke Piazza and Brad Kretz led the defense.

Strykerz 1, The Fives 0 – Nick Shannon scored the lone goal to lift the Strykerz to the win. Ben Galassi was outstanding at keeper. Sean Watkins and Mike Stierle anchored the defense while Austin Isola and Michael Marcinek played well at midfield. For The Fives, Matt Barra was solid at keeper, Jonah McKeown and Trey Dewald were super on defense and Alec Bedini and James Holcomb had a great game at midfield.

Girls U10

Torpedoes 4, Blazing Monkeys 2 – Amanda Mele scored twice as Amanda Martinez and Marina Renzi each scored once to lead the Torpedoes. Sinead Flanagan, Danielle Scarpa and Jaqueline Mooney all had great all around games. Sophia DeVivo and Faith Pereira scored for the Blazing Monkeys with assists from Brianna McDonald and Avery Higham. Hannah Grant was solid in goal.

Galaxy 4, Turf Devils 0 – Sierra Mather scored three goals and Meghan Grimes added one to lead the Galaxy to the win. Christina Cistulli was strong on offense while Christina Moore and Joanelle Tran played an overall great game. Strong Turf Devil performances came from Denise Kuban, Emily Campbell, Brittney Antous and Kendra Dunnigan in midfield and defense.

Rockets 2, Super Shooters 0 – Katie Reilly and Jessie Coughlin scored to lift the Rockets to the win. Grace Frost and Caitlyn Linden played solid overall in both offense and defense. Hannah Schneiderman was strong in goal. For the Super Shooters, Jenna Hansen was super in goal. Callie Kraushaar and Courtney Daytin played well in offense. Katerina Ringes was a force on defense.

Boys U10

Oskars 3, Team (#6) 0 – William Roberts and Travis Hanna both scored goals to lead the Oskars to the win. Mason Melillo played a great overall game and Dillon Palumbo was excellent in goal. For Team #6, Nick Yarosis and Danny McCarthy played well on defense and Tony Leonardi played a good offensive game.

Blue Dragons 6, Team Galassi 2 – Jacob Harper scored three goals and Jack Riley, Hayes Kelchner, and Andrey Masser all had one each to lead the Dragons. Scott Martin and Quinlan Hart played well in the midfield. For Team Galassi, Owen Samson and Matthew Stewart had a goal apiece as And Callen Creeden and Noah Velush-Rogers both played solid defense.

Twisters 3, Team (#2) 0 – Zach Weiland had a goal off an Erik Von Schleusingen assist (on a throw in) to lead the Twisters. Michael Unschuld had a great all around game. For Team #2, Joseph Perkus and Sinclair Sore played great games on the midfield while Kustav Mitra stopped many attempts on goal.

Boys U8

Real Mohawks 3, Great Whites 1 – Conner Mayer scored three goals to lead the Mohawks to the win. Riley Burns was solid on defense. For the Great Whites, Thomas Leuci scored off an assist from Luke Melillo. Alexander Hagischi played well.

United 2, Blue Sharks 1 – Adam Bergeron, CJ Trivers, Matt Bucci and Dylan Kretz played well to lead the United to the win. For the Sharks, Justin Cicarelli and Kyle Roche played aggressive defense holding off the winning goal until the last few minutes of the game. Andrew Lally and Garrett Fetchick provided awesome offensive support.

Girls U8

Mustangs 3, American Eagles 2 – Camryn Cicarelli, Nevan Gattey and Sarah MacMullan all scored to lead the Mustangs to the win. Priya Deraney played great in goal. Alexandra Ferris and Alessandra Manfredi had assists. For the Eagles, Emily Neave and Meghan Doyle scored while Rachel Wolf was great on defense and Kira Smith was superb in goal.

Smelly Skunks 5, Blue Champions 0 – Danielle Otero and Diana Kirkman scored with assists by Annika Brady and Ashling Sugarman to lead the Skunks. Katie Reilly was a force on defense. For the Champions, Chloe Londono-Ayr and Emma Boland were strong on offense as Catherine Shaw and Brooke Varnum were solid on defense.

Dynamites 3, Cheetahs 0 – Sarah Houle scored two goals and Erin Tressler added one to lead the Dynamites to the win. Abby Pereira and Ashley Santore played great overall games. The Cheetahs were led by strong offensive efforts from Eleanor Frost and Julia Haskins, while Maria Ringes and Audrey Sedensky played well defensively.

Soccer Stars 6, Team (#5) 2 – Julia Doyle scored three goals while Rebecca Gavin, Mackenzie Macchiarulo and Makenna Cerney added one apiece to lead the Stars.

Girls U6

Cheetahs 3, Rhinos 2 – Kristen Cirone scored three goals to lead the Cheetahs to the win. Lauren Adams, Carolina Stubbs, and Ally Toth all played well. Madison Ziperstein and Isabella Satmary each put one in for the Rhinos, while teammates Lauren Davis and Angela Vodola both put in great performances.

Fighting Irish 5, Tigers 0 – Jenna Lavelle, Sarah Tressler, Makayla Manoni and Alison Kelleher all scored to lead the Irish to the win. Audrey Benson and Heidi Poach played outstanding on offense and defense. For the Tigers, Kristina Goeree, Tess Hubbard and Sage Karp played well.
