MONROE — Newtown resident and former school librarian Pia Ledina announced the opening of Turning The Page, an independent specialty bookstore in Monroe, is set for this Saturday, June 15, from 10 am to 5 pm, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 10:30 am.

Turning The Page, formerly Linda’s Story Time of Monroe, will be personally curated to include fiction and nonfiction books for children from birth to 18 years of age; a small yet mighty section of fiction and nonfiction titles for adults; toys, art, and science kits; and reading accessories.

Monroe’s First Selectman Ken Kellogg, members of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, and the Monroe Economic Development Commission are expected to attend the ribbon cutting.

Author Lauren Tarshis will be joining Ms Ledina at Turning The Page at 1 pm on June 15 for a talk and book signings. Ms Tarshis is most well-known as the author of the I Survived series and the Emma Lazarus series.

The bookstore is located at 477 Main Street. Regular store hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Thursday, 1 pm to 8 pm.

The store can be reached at 203-459-1579.
