UMW Present Caring For The Brain

WOODBURY — As part of its elder care series, the United Methodist Women will present a program entitled “Healthy Life Choices for Your Brain” on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 pm, in Fellowship Hall at Woodbury United Methodist Church.

This program is free and open to the public and is directed to all adults, not just the elderly. The program focuses on preventative tips to help maintain good brain function as people age.

Leading the discussion will be Linda LaBarge, special care coordinator at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Ms LaBarge is a member of Scatter the Clouds, an outreach ministry of the Lutheran Home of Southbury. Scatter the Clouds is a community- and congregation-based referral program aimed at addressing the needs of persons affected by a memory-related disorder and their families. The program provides education, needs assessments, and referrals to agencies to enable a person suffering with a memory-related disorder to stay in his or her home with proper care.

Dessert will be served and babysitting will be available. For more information contact Meg Temple at 267-6785.
