Continuing Education Courses

Newtown Continuing Education has a number of classes scheduled for April.

A course on Reiki, starting Tuesday, April 5, will offer the opportunity to learn the art of channeling energy flow, used for relaxing, stress relief, and personal enrichment. At the end of the course attendees will have earned an Attunement and Reiki I certificate. Cost is $59.

Upcoming classes include a bus trip on Sunday, April 10, to The Tenement Museum, an apartment building at 97 Orchard Street, which was built in 1863 and was home to nearly 7,000 working class immigrants. Cost is $89 for the day trip.

A Basic Drawing Skills course will be offered on Tuesdays, starting April 12 and continuing for six classes, for $114. The course will introduce attendees to basic drawing skills and improvements.

“Hello My Garden,” taught by garden columnist Colleen Plimpton, will demonstrate how to “open your garden for the spring.” Three sessions start April 26; cost is $69.

Golf courses designed for beginning and intermediate golfers will be taught by Newtown resident and PGA Teaching Professional John Hiteshaw.
