William McDonough, 69, of Newtown, died unexpectedly April 18, at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., September 29, 1943, a son of Mary (Devins) and Thomas McDonough.

Mr McDonough was the business manager for Local #1 of the Theatrical Stage Handlers Union in New York City. He was a longtime resident of Sandy Hook before moving to Brownsville, Vt. He returned to Newtown a few years ago.

A brother, John D. McDonough of Ewing, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Phyllis and Cara Blake of Vermont; and several nieces and nephews survive Mr McDonough.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Wednesday, April 24, at 10 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Tuesday, April 23, from 5 to 8 pm.
