Women's Center Seeks Volunteers
Womenâs Center Seeks Volunteers
DANBURY â The Womenâs Center of Greater Danbury is now screening volunteers for its fall domestic violence-sexual assault crisis intervention training.
This 40-hour training will qualify volunteers to do crisis intervention counseling by telephone hotline. This training is also a prerequisite for specialized positions such as career counseling, court advocacy, group facilitation, and shelter advocacy. Day and evening childcare and other non-counseling positions such as fundraising, clerical support, and writing are also available and only require a five-hour orientation.
The training will be held in October, November, and January. Weekday sessions are 5:30 to 9 pm; Saturdays 9 am to 3 pm. For more information call Melanie Danyliw at 731-5200.
