To the Editor:
I am writing this letter because it is the correct thing to do and the people who care about the Edmond Town Hall must get involved.
I saw in this week’s Newtown Bee (May 15, 2015) about the new seats for the balcony. I could not believe what I just read. The article said the Edmond Town Hall is getting new seats. This could not be further than the truth.

To the Editor:
Last week’s Bee carried the obituary of Edgar Beers, an active and long-time supporter of many Newtown organizations.
I had the privilege of serving with Edgar on the Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers and, what few people know, is that shortly before his retirement, he made an important gift to the Edmond Town Hall. There was little fanfare about the gift except for a mention in the minutes and a letter of appreciation sent to him by the board and excerpted below:

To the Editor:
We at SEP would like to express our overwhelming gratitude to the entire Newtown community and especially the Edmond Town Hall and Board of Managers. After four years away, we chose to bring our productions home to Newtown. The enthusiasm and support we received was heartwarming and affirmed that the Edmond Town Hall is truly a world class center for the performing arts. The Board of Managers was always available to support every need and was instrumental in bringing this show successfully to the stage.
