  • Gestures Of Kindness, Part Nine— Residents Continue To Receive Love, Provide Inspiration To Others

    A two-day food drive at Six Flags New England conducted over the two-day 2013 season opening weekend filled more than two trucks with donations for Newtown Food Pantry. It was one of countless gestures of kindness that continue to be done for the residents of Newtown since 12/14.

  • Memorial Fund Establishes Long-Term Partnership With Pura Vida Bracelets

    The Newtown Memorial Fund, Inc. has announced a long term fundraising partnership with Pura Vida Bracelets, a La Jolla, Calif., based company and designer of stylish Costa Rican handmade string bracelets. The exclusive Sandy Hook Elementary Memorial bracelet, created in response to 12/14, will be sold with all proceeds benefiting the Newtown Memorial Fund.

    The bracelets are $5 each, but there is a $10 minimum order on the Pura Vida Bracelets website (PuraVidaBracelets.com), which is the only location where they are currently available.

  • Illinois Teen Raises Money For Newtown Memorial Fund

    Andrew Ernest, a senior at Oswego East High School in Oswego, Ill., presented roughly $10,000 for the Newtown Memorial Fund to Newtown representatives on Monday, February 18.

  • Virginia Student Raises Money For Newtown Memorial Fund

    Following the events of 12/14, Isabel Linzer, a high school student at Yorktown High School in Virginia, began collecting donations at her school and in her community.

    As Isabel explained, "Spending so much time here brought it close to home."

    Isabel visits her cousin Emily Silveira and her aunt and uncle Betsey and Harry Rickert in Newtown often. By the Monday following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Isabel had begun her collection.
