    Occupation: I’m a paraeducator at Middle Gate School. This January I’ll have been there for ten years. I started out in the reading department, for two or three years, and then there was an opening in kindergarten and I’ve been there since. I fill in wherever I’m need, though. Before kids, I worked in marketing at Pitney Bowes.

    Occupation: I have been the assistant administrator for Nunnawauk Meadows for over three years. Working with the staff is wonderful, and I admire their helpfulness and dedication to the facility. I enjoy assisting and interacting with the residents there.

    Family: My husband, Steve, an engineer, and I have been married for 18 years. We were friends through school, especially through band. We have a 10-year-old son, Adam, who is a fifth grader at Reed Intermediate School.

    Occupation: I’m a physical therapist assistant at Church Hill Physical Therapy. I graduated from Norwalk Community College for the two-year PTA degree, and from Franciscan University in Ohio, with a BS in biology.

    Family: I’m married to Amy. We’ve been married for three years. We just had a baby, Grace, in January.

    Pets: No pets right now. We want some, though.

    Occupation: I am a computer teacher at Rockwell K-3 School in Bethel. I get to teach the fun stuff — computer programming, robots — all the stuff kids enjoy.

    Family: My husband, Ryan, is a teacher in New Fairfield. He teaches elementary math. Our daughter, Riley, is 7 years old and in the second grade at Hawley School. Our son is Jake, and he is 3 years old, and at St Rose Preschool.

    Occupation: I’m a homemaker right now. I used to be an office manager. Now I do a lot of volunteer work, anywhere I’m needed.

    Family: My first husband, Rocco, passed away at an early age. We had two children, Rocco, who is now 39 years old, and Bridget, who is 37. I’m married now to Dan, and we have a daughter, Sabrina, who is in the eighth grade at St Rose. We have two grandchildren. Bridget is married to Richard, and they have Lexi, who is 4, and Andrew, who is one year old.

    Occupation: I’m mainly a volunteer these days. I retired from executive recruiting in 2002. I helped companies find middle and senior management personnel in finance and technology.

  • Snapshot: Sophfronia Scott

    Occupation: I’m a writer. I received my MFA in July 2014, and I’ll be teaching at the low-residency MFA program at Regis University in Colorado. I’ll go there occasionally, but I’ll work with my students mostly by e-mail. I’ve published one novel, and I have one in submission now — fingers crossed! And in the meantime, I’m working on an essay collection.

    Occupation: It’s a little hard to explain all I do. I’m a folk artist, and Old Green Road is my folk art business. I’m also an event promoter through my business, Piper Promotions, and City Center Danbury. I do property management with Nolan Enterprises, as well. I have a lot of angles to what I do, and they are all kind of related.

    Family: My husband John and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary. We have three kids, Brian, Daniel, and Megan.

    Occupation: I’m the new executive director at NYA Sports & Fitness Center. I came from Family & Children’s Aid in Danbury. The executive director role here has some fundraising elements, program development, and the day-to-day operations to oversee.

    Family: My wife, Robyn, is a psychiatric APRN, and works at Family & Children’s. We have two daughters. Zoe is 4½ years old, and Amelia is 19 months old.

    Occupation: I am a construction project manager.

    Family: I have been married to Maribeth for 33 years. We have two daughters. Sarah is 28 and Maggie is 26.

    Pets: Until very recently, we had two golden retrievers. Sadie passed away at 14, two months ago, and Lucy passed away at age 12, in early August.

    How long have you lived in town? We have lived here for 26 years.
