Occupation: I am a classical musician. I’m the principal bassoonist for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and freelance throughout the region. I also teach music at Naugatuck Community College in Waterbury.
Family: I’m married to Kristen Provost Switzer. She’s a Newtown native and minister at Prospect Congregational Church.

Occupation: I was a teacher in Trumbull schools for 35 years, and was the IT leader for ten years. I retired, but I still teach tech privately through my own company, Tech Training. I’m also a Google-certified teacher. Recently, I’ve been doing training on the Google apps with a bunch of schools, and I still work with the Trumbull school system. I’m also music director and organist at St Elizabeth Seton in Ridgefield.

Occupation: I work in Information Technologies for a local pharmaceutical company. I’m kind of a mixture of systems engineer and project manager.
Family: I’m married to Kristin, who is a math teacher in Trumbull. We’ve been married for ten years.
Pets: We have three cats: a 21-year-old calico cat, named Guinness, and two tuxedo cats, Maggie and McGee, that are about five years old. We adopted them from The Animal Center.

Occupation: I specialize in information security and regulatory compliance. I’m a consultant for various businesses and corporations. I’m also a professional musician. I play with Outfunked, a jazz fusion band, and the Hadron Big Bangers, a progressive rock band, mostly.

Occupation: I am the interim executive director for EverWonder Children’s Museum on Pecks Lane. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, and a volunteer at EverWonder for four years, before this.
Family: My husband, David, and I have a daughter, Lauren, who is 9 years old, and a son, Andrew, who is 5.
Pets: We have a golden retriever, Willow. She’s just over a year old and still kind of crazy. She’s an energetic little pup.

Occupation: I am a clerk at Queen Street Cleaners, in the Big Y plaza. I’ve been working here for about ten years. I was as dog groomer for 23 years. It was dirty work, but I loved those animals.
Family: My son, Joseph, was a Danbury Police Officer for 15 years. He is married to Brenda. I have three grandchildren, Jonah, 20; Raquel, 18; and David, 16. I have an older brother in North Carolina, too.

Occupation: I’m studying for my Series Six test, to be a financial planner. I work at New York Life in Stratford. Primarily, I work with people to help take stress out of their lives. I help them organize their assets and accomplish their goals. One thing I feel strongly about is financial literacy. If you educate people, they’ll feel more comfortable around financial decisions. I especially like working with women. I think it’s an underserved population.

Occupation: I coach track at Newtown High School, and I when I’m not coaching, I work at the Nike store in Westport.
Family: My mom, Tina Welsh, and stepdad, Ted Welsh, live in Newtown. My dad, Ray, and stepmom, Betsy Hoyt, are in Sandy Hook. My sister, Andrea, lives on Cape Cod. I have a stepbrother, Matt, at Ohio State, and my stepsister, Lindsey, is a junior at Newtown High School.

Occupation: I’m an interior designer. My business is Inspirations For Your Home, inspirationsforyourhome.com. I started it eight years ago, and it’s all about interior designs from window treatments to kitchen and bath design and renovation. I’ve always been very creative and my husband and I have built several homes. I like people, so this job combines aspects of meeting new people and bringing my creativity into their homes. Experience is the best teacher.

Occupation: I’m a certified K-6 teacher. I’ve taken the last seven years off to be a stay-at-home mom, but in September, I started teaching part-time at Step Away in Monroe and at St Rose. I’ve recently started a preschool tutoring and education consulting business, called PreKConnect —prekconnect.com. I tutor 4-year-olds for kindergarten readiness, at my home or at the library. I’m also available to go into preschools to help bump up the curriculum.
