  • Custom Lighthouse To Attract Newtown’s Families To June 15 Festival

    Organizers of Newtown’s upcoming Lighthouse Festival are excited about the progress being made on a 20-foot tall, custom, interactive lighthouse being built for the event. The working lighthouse, designed by Duane Langenwalter of Thin Air, LLC, will incorporate symbolic references to the lives lost on 12/14 while shining a joyful light on the youth of this town.

  • Registration Open For Newtown Ecumenical Vacation Church School

    Newtown Ecumenical Vacation Church School (EVCS) 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church invites all children to the Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together.

    Newtown EVCS is a vacation bible school sponsored by four Newtown churches: Newtown United Methodist, Newtown Congregational, St Rose of Lima, and Trinity Episcopal. This year’s EVCS will be hosted by Trinity, at 36 Main Street.

  • Interfaith Prayer Vigil, Tonight At Trinity

    Newtown Interfaith Clergy Association will host a prayer vigil Sunday, April 21, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street.

    The vigil will begin at 7 pm.

    Along with prayers for the local community, the event will include prayers for the victims of Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon in addition to those affected by the industrial fire and explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, on Wednesday.

    All are welcome. 

  • Forget-Me-Not Cards The First Beacon Toward Upcoming Lighthouse Festival

    Volunteers of all ages recently gathered to create handmade invitations for a Lighthouse Festival to be presented on June 15 at Trinity Episcopal Church. The event will be presented by Ben’s Lighthouse Fund, and organizers hope to draw residents of all ages.

  • Taizé For Lent, With Labyrinth Walks, At Trinity

    Trinity Episcopal Church is offering weekly Taizé-style worship services Wednesdays evenings at 7:15 during Lent.

    This style of worship consists of simple chants sung repeatedly, rich silence, glowing candlelight and prayers of intercession.

  • A Special Concert Of Holiday Music

    The New Baroque Soloists, with special guest the soprano Susan Consoli, will perform “A Festive Holiday Concert of Chamber Music” at Trinity Episcopal Church on Friday, December 28.
