  • Rose Ceremony Marks 25th Year At Waldorf School

    A traditional Rose Ceremony marked the start of the 25th academic year at Housatonic Valley Waldorf School on Wednesday, September 3.

    During the ceremony eighth grade students act as mentors for first grade students and present the first graders with a rose for the first day of school.

    Newtown First Selectman Pat Llodra spoke during this year’s ceremony and delivered a proclamation from the town for the school.

  • Rose Ceremony Welcomes New Housatonic Valley Waldorf School Students

    Following school tradition, Housatonic Valley Waldorf School’s newest and youngest students were welcomed Wednesday, September 4, for the first day of school at the Dodgingtown school with a Rose Ceremony.

    Seventh grade teacher Leslie Lew greeted students and guests to the welcoming event.

    “This is really one of the most exciting ways to start the school year,” said Ms Lew.
