  • Letter of Endorsement

    To the Editor:

I’m writing in support of Tony Hwang for State Senator.

As former First Selectmen of Easton, I have had numerous occasions to work with Tony. I have always found him pleasant, responsive, and easy to get along with. He is a representative with integrity whom you can trust. His record of bipartisanship speaks for itself.

Tony balances fiscal accountability with social responsibility. Moreover, he is a representative who thinks and re-thinks issues.

What does a public servant look like? Many of us would be hard pressed to answer this question today. Why? Because when we try to visualize what this individual might look like our thoughts immediately revert to the bickering and political party politics that have consumed so many of our elected officials.

Only recently, I came to experience firsthand, that the public servant is alive and well, embodied in the person of Tony Hwang.

    To the Editor:

I’m proud to be able to cast my vote for Tony Hwang in the upcoming election.

He is not my current legislative representative, nor am I a Republican. Tony has been a tireless advocate for social responsibility, which is my bailiwick. He has a very sound barometer for where the government’s role is with respect to social services and where non-profits are better suited to fill the gaps for those among us that need support to live the best life possible.

    To the Editor:

In 2011 I had the distinct pleasure of interning for Fairfield State Representative Kim Fawcett at the State Capitol in Hartford.  At the time, I was a senior undergraduate political science student at Sacred Heart University and was contemplating taking the plunge into public service but thought an internship would be able to tip the scales one way or the other – and did it ever!  Working for and with Kim ignited in me a passion for public service and politics that I was unaware I even had in me.

I am writing in support of Matt Cole for state representative. I have worked directly with Matt over the past year and can attest to his commitment to the residents of Newtown and the Newtown community. He has strong leadership skills, understands how to work with others to get things done, and is a strong advocate for those in need of assistance. Matt is also a social worker who practices under the National Association of Social Workers, Code of Ethics that presents guidance on ethical decision making.

To mention all of Tony Hwang’s accomplishments would require too many words.

In Fairfield, Tony has always been a very active and dedicated state Representative who puts his constituents first. His commitment to community is unsurpassed! His door is always open, and he makes time regardless — for events or issues, never too big or too small.

Mitch Bolinsky has my vote for State Representative on November 4th.

The 2014 CT General Assembly regular session ran from February to May this year. But legislating is only part of the job for Mitch. On a daily basis, Mitch continues to work with and for his constituents, solving problems and getting results.
