  • ‘Holiday Arts Show’ Will Present Works In Myriad Forms By A Trio Of Artists

    Avancé Esthétiques Day Spa will host an exhibition showcasing the work of “three fabulous females,” says Rosemary Rau, curator of “Holiday Arts Show.”

    Featuring jewelry by Justine Aspinwall, traditional watercolors by DeAnn L. Prosia, and mosaic glass art by Heidrun Morgan, the exhibition will be on view at the Sand Hill Plaza location November 23 until December 31. An opening reception is planned for Sunday, November 23, from 2 to 4 pm.

  • A Halloween Tradition, Boo Boxes Will Fundraise For Food Pantries & Ann’s Place

    For the tenth year a collection of cardboard boxes have been decorated and filled with Halloween offerings. For the first time, they are being sold around town.

    This year, the boxes have been decorated by members of Newtown United LLC, along with a few local artists, and are being sold for $10 each as a fundraiser for FAITH Food Pantry, the Salvation Army Food Pantry at Newtown Social Services, and Ann’s Place.

  • Art In Residence ‘Kaleidoscope’ Opening This Weekend

    Art in Residence, a fine art gallery located within the home at 12 Lake Road in Newtown, will host a weekend opening reception for its next show, “Kaleidoscope.”

    The public is invited to join hosts Rosemary and Robert Rau on Saturday and Sunday, July 26-27, from 1 to 6 pm each day, to enjoy “a feast for the eyes art show.”

    The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown is hosting “Natural Beauty,” featuring works by Susan McLaughlin, June 18-July 12, at Avancé Esthétiques Gallery at the spa, 228 South Main Street in Newtown.

  • Summer Exhibitions Opening At Art In Residence, Sunday Afternoon

    Art in Residence, a fine art gallery in the home of Rosemary and Robert Rau at 12 Lake Road, will host the opening reception of its summer exhibition on Sunday, June 8.

    “The Equine and Canine — Body and Soul” will feature works by sculptor Peggy Kauffman and animal portraitist Jocelyn Sandor Urban. The collection will also offer works by Adele Moros, Aline LaPointe and Ellie Scott.

  • Art In Residence Curators Thinking ‘All About Spring’

    Art In Residence, a fine art gallery in northern Newtown, will host a special opening weekend reception for “All About Spring” on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27.

    To celebrate the season and the gallery’s six-month anniversary, gallery owners Rosemary and Robert Rau will created a show filled with works that celebrate the current season. For its opening weekend, the exhibition will also feature special guest speakers who have agreed to informally share their garden wisdom and stories each day.
