Bridgeport Hospital

Michael A. Divers, a 12-year healthcare development executive, has been named the president of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, the fundraising and development arm of the Southern Connecticut Health System. The system includes Bridgeport Hospital, Ahlbin Centers for Rehabilitation Medicine and United Home Care. Mr Divers was senior vice president for development at Tri State Health System in Suffern.

Dr Stanley J. Dudrick, a pioneer and internationally recognized expert in intravenous nutrition, has been named chairman of the Department of Surgery at Bridgeport Hospital. He previously was associate chairman and program director of surgery at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, and chairman of the department of surgery at both the University of Texas in Houston and Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.

Danbury Hospital

Vadim Tikhomirov, MD, has joined Medical Associates, a primary care physician practice affiliated with Danbury Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is the author of several publications on topics of internal medicine. His special interests include preventive medicine and management of blood vessel diseases.

Hindola Konrad, MD, has joined Acuity Eye Care with Richard Casden, MD, and Betty Klein, MD. Dr Hindola practices ophthalmic plastic and reconstrutive surgery and specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, orbital and lacrimal surgery including excision of benign and malignant tumors of the eyelid, management of thyroid eye disease, laser resurfacing and endoscopic facial surgery. She received her training at Columbia University where she currently holds an academic position. She also earned a fellowship in oculplastic and adnexal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.

 

Gerald D. Robilotti has been appointed associate dean of the School of Medicine and graduate studies officer of the Graduate School of Health Sciences by New York Medical College. Mr Robilotti is executive vice president of Danbury Health Systems, the parent corporation of Danbury Hospital. A Newtown resident, he joined the hospital staff in 1971 and previously served as president and chief operating officer of the hospital.

Waterbury Hospital

Elisa M. Benzoni, DO, has joined Associated Women’s Health Specialists, PC, in Waterbury. She has relocated her obstetrics and gynecology practice from Danbury. She is an attending physician at Waterbury Hospital and has privileges at St Mary’s Hospital.

 

Dr Michael Ajemian has been named associate director of surgery at Waterbury Hospital. His areas of responsibility include trauma and general surgery, supervising surgical residents, and caring for patients in the surgical Intensive Care Unit. He lives in Southbury.

Sandra Y. Mattson, CMSC, CPCS, of Waterbury Hospital has been named president-elect of the National Association of Medical Staff Services. NAMSS is an independent, nonprofit professional association of persons who provide expertise in the areas of provider credentialing, medical staff services and provider relations. A 28-year employee of Waterbury Hospital, Ms Mattson has been manager of the Medical Staff Services Department since 1987.

University of Connecticut School of Medicine

Author-Surgeon Robert A. Zonzol, MD has been named vice chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He is first author on the books Surgical Pearls, a Resident’s Guide to Surgical Rotation, and When to Call the Surgeon: Decision Making for Primary Care Providers. He formerly was associate professor of surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and chief of surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Detroit.
