David G. Sorensen
FARMINGTON, MAINE — David “Dave” G. Sorensen, 84, beloved husband of predeceased wife, Elizabeth, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2026.
He is lovingly remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. He also enjoyed his fellowship with Calvary Hill Baptist Church and his many friends throughout his life — most especially with his neighbor, the Goat. It was a friendship that both Daves collectively shared and appreciated.
Dave wore two professional hats. Before moving to Maine in 1988, Dave was very proud of his career, working his way up from an apprentice to a photo engraver at Graphic Color Plate in Stamford. His work resulted in stunning photo covers for both National Geographic and Life magazines. Once in Maine, Dave thoroughly enjoyed working as a Realtor until his retirement. He took great pride in guiding young people toward their first home as well as achieving Million Dollar Club sales recognition. On his off time, Dave was also a highly skilled tradesman, whose workmanship, together with his beloved Elizabeth’s vision, transformed unfinished houses into beautiful homes for his family in both Connecticut and Maine.
He is survived by his four children and their families, Lisa (Stephen, Christian), Christine (Sierra/Justus, Ophelia, Odette, and Jake), Nick (Jesse, Bianca, Lilyana, Spencer) and Kelley (Vincent, Tyler, Jarrett). We are forever grateful to Dad for instilling in us the value of family first and passing down his incredible work ethic.
Dave is also survived by three brothers-in-law, Fred, Carl (Shirley) and Jerome; one sister-in-law, Sheila (Tony); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Helen Sorensen; brother Donald; sister Dianne; sisters-in-law Bonnie and Carole; brother-in-law Pat; and niece Jennifer.
Special thanks go to MaineGeneral Medical Center Critical Care Unit in Augusta (all appreciated the Dad jokes), Maine Medical Center Cardiac Unit in Portland, and Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington for all their care and comfort.
No services are planned as Dave preferred a private farewell. He will be remembered for leading a meaningful and impactful life and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loving family and friends.
