Gymnasts Compete In First Meet

Newtown High School’s gymnastics team competed in its first meet of the year at Newtown Gymnastics Academy on December 30. The Nighthawks had some stellar results. New Milford was first as a team with a score of 120.80, Brookfield came in second with a tally of 119.40, Newtown took third with a total of 111.90, and Danbury was fourth with 99.30.

Sadie Boyajian scored an 8.2 on vault, 7.2 on bars, 8.0 on balance beam, 7.2 on floor, and had an all around score of 30.6.

Addie Strychalsky earned a 7.1 on vault, 5.5 on bars, 6.5 on the beam, 7.2 on floor, and an all around score of 26.3.

Bella Muzzio-Martins had a 7.6 on vault, 5.2 on bars, 5.7 on beam, 6.2 on floor, and all around score of 24.7.

Eva Fenaroli: scored an 8.4 on vault, 6.4 on beam, and 6.5 on floor.

Brianna Schoffstall had an 8.9 on the bars.

Masuk of Monroe student Savanna Cedrone, who practices and competes along with the Nighthawks, scored an 8.5 on vault, 8.0 on bars, 8.9 on beam, 8.2 on floor, and had an all around score of 33.60. She placed first on vault, beam, floor, and all around, and was second on bars.
