Choral Society To Begin Spring Rehearsals

Newtown Choral Society will begin rehearsals Wednesday, January 18, for its spring concert, “Phobias, the Music.” The concert will be April 28 at Newtown Meeting House.

Under the direction of Mary Andreotta, the choir will present music covering a range of genres from classical to contemporary, Broadway and pop.  An event clearly with tongue in cheek, the concert will spotlight phobias from acousticophobia to zoophobia and, of course, will welcome phobophobists.

The choir welcomes as members all who have a love of singing, would like to work on choral technique and are able to learn music by ear, or by reading music. There are openings in all sections with placement to be determined by the director. 

The choir rehearses each Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.
