Preschool Offering Free Sample Classes

MONROE — Step Away Preschool has announced it is offering sample sessions of its class for 2-year-olds free of charge on Wednesdays, January 18 and 25, and February 1, from 9:30 to 11 am.

Parents and children will participate together in the class and see how children of this age benefit from a preschool experience that is specifically geared to the unique needs of 2-year-olds.  Included in the class will be creative art, guided play, participatory music, story time, and a nutritious snack.

Step A Way is a state licensed preschool on the north end of Monroe, just over the Newtown town line, that has offered early childhood programs for more than 45 years.

Children can attend one or two days a week for two hours. Limited openings are available for the second half of this year for children who are already 2 years old, and for the 2012-2013 school year for those who will be turning 2 in the months ahead.

The class is taught by Bern Lewis and Mary Donnelly. Both teachers have background and experience working with the age group.

To make a reservation call the school’s director Barbara “Bambi” Clark, MS, at 203-261-4717 or send an e-mail to info@stepaway.org.

For more information about Step A Way visit the school’s web site at www.stepaway.org.  The school’s address is 423 Main Street, Monroe.
