APPRAISERS ASSOCIATION ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

NEW YORK CITY — Appraisers Association of America Executive Director Aleya Lehmann has announced the election of new officers to serve in 2005-2006: David A. Gallager, president; Roslyn Bakst Goldman, first vice president; Kathleen Harwood, second vice president; Beth G. Weingast, secretary; Robert C. Aretz, treasurer; Penelope A. Dixon, sergeant-at-arms; and Barbara J. Fischman, recording secretary.

Gallager of David A. Gallager Appraisals, New York City, has 25 years of experience in the appraisal and cataloging of works of art and furniture. He performs appraisals and serves as consultant and agent for a wide range of decorative and fine arts. He was employed for 14 years by Sotheby’s and joined William Doyle Galleries in 1994 as senior estate appraiser and director of the American Furniture Department. He was a featured appraiser on WGBH’s Antiques Roadshow from its inception in 1996 to 2000.

Goldman, appraiser of fine art, Rochester, N.Y., has appraised fine art for 24 years and, since 1986, has been a member of the Appraisers Association of America. She is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Rochester. She was chair of the Monroe County Public Art Committee, selecting art for the Greater Rochester International Airport.
