Sandy Hook Advisory Commission To Meet Friday
HARTFORD — The Sandy Hook Advisory Commission is next scheduled to meet Friday, January 16, at 9:30 am, at the Legislative Office Building.
The commission is Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s 16-member panel of experts tasked with reviewing current policies and making specific recommendations in the areas of public safety, with particular attention paid to school safety, mental health, and gun violence prevention.
. Among its agenda items this month is to schedule its final meetings.The group was formed in January 2013
The group is also scheduled to discuss law enforcement and emergency response, safe school design and operation, mental health and mental wellness, as well as the finalization of its report to the governor.
This will be the commission’s first meting of the year. Its previous meeting was held in Newtown in November.
