Elections Have Consequences XIX
To The Editor:
Two hundred fifty years ago, we declared our independence from a crazed monarch. Five years ago, a poor loser with monarchical desires tried to overthrow the government. One year ago, millions of us showed up to declare “no more kings.” Time to hit the streets again with the Free America Walkout.
Trump behaves as if the Constitution does not apply to him and the Republican led congress seems to be okay with surrendering their power to him. He recently told the NY Times that on the international stage he should only be guided by “his own morality and his mind”. Too bad for us he has no morals and his mind is clearly eroding. Once again Trump is reminding us that it is all about him. He not only admires Putin, now he is emulating him. If he does take Greenland by force and it results in the end of NATO, Putin’s dream will come true.
Let’s not forget that the world’s oldest toddler has a nuclear button in his toy box and all the nannies are afraid to tell him “No.”
He is expressing support for protesters in Iran but is okay with a peaceful protester here at home being gunned down. The federal government no longer works for “we the people” but is there to support Trump and his oligarch friends. A recent example is the EPA putting corporate profits ahead of human life when it comes to clean air — big surprise.
This November we will (hopefully) have state and federal elections. Anyone running for any public office this year, who lacks the necessary anatomy to denounce this crass, cruel and corrupt administration, must be soundly defeated. Join us on January 20th for the Free America Walkout. The current plan is to meet in front of Edmond Town Hall between 2:00-3:00 pm. Get out your signs and marching shoes and let’s get to work because it looks like it is going to be up to “we the people,” once again.
