Assigned To Iraq

Peter M. Thompson, son of Eleanor Thompson of Sandy Hook and the late Wilfred Thompson, Jr, has been assigned by the US State Department for duty in Iraq.

Mr Thompson, 54, who lives in Fairfax, Va., and works for the State Department, has been appointed as Deputy of Governance of the Governance Group and will serve in Dahuk, which is near Iraq’s Iranian border. He started his six-month assignment on January 12.
