William L. Stormer

William L. Stormer, 67, of Newtown, husband of Kathryn (Pascale) Stormer, died January 9 at St Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport after a long illness.

Mr Stormer was employed for 38 years by Sikorsky Aircraft as lead man for the blade and composite shop, retiring in 2001. After his retirement, he served for a brief time as a courier for the Region 15 Board of Education. Mr Stormer also had served as manager of the Crossroads Restaurant in Monroe from 1968 to 1973. He was a veteran of the US Army and a past member of the Republican Town Committee in Newtown. He also served as a past assistant chief of the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Department and a coach in Newtown Little League.

Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter Cathy Sieling and her husband Karl and their children Ashley, Amanda, and Billy of Newtown, and daughter Tammy of Newtown; his son Henry and his wife, Lois, and their children Brittany, Austin, and Meghan of Southbury, his daughter Lisa Sileo and her husband Matt and their children Courtney and Ryan of Shelton. He also leaves his brother-in-law Hank Kniese of Newtown, and several sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania, where he was born.

A funeral service was held January 14 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 41 Easton Road, Westport.
