NYFS Receives $14,00 Grant To Subsidize Counseling Services
Newtown Youth & Family Services, Inc (NYFS) has received a grant for $14,000 from the Fairfield County Community Foundation. The grant will help subsidize the cost of counseling services for individuals and families who without this help would have to forego care. Without these subsidies, there would be hundreds of community members that may not get the care they need.
âWe receive numerous calls daily from families/individuals that need mental health care, but do not have the means to afford sessions,â said Candice Foster, executive director of NYFS. âIt is through support from foundations, such as the Fairfield County Community Foundation, which help us make sure than anyone who needs care is able to get it.â
The Fairfield County Community Foundation promotes the growth of community and regional philanthropy to improve the quality of life throughout Fairfield County. Individuals, families, corporations, and organizations can establish charitable funds and contribute to existing funds. The foundation provides philanthropic advisory services, and develops and leads initiatives to tackle critical community issues. It is in compliance with the Council on Foundationsâ national standards for community foundations. The foundation (FCCFoundation.org) has awarded more than $123 million in grants to nonprofits in Fairfield County and beyond.
