Sharp Shooters Sink Their Shots

The Knights Of Columbus Council 185 held its annual Free Throw Shooting Contest at the St. Rose School gymnasium/ Gathering Hall on Sunday, January 15. With approximately three-dozen participants, the event saw its largest turnout in more than ten years, according to contest coordinator Joe Rahtelli, the youth director of the Knights Of Columbus Newtown Council. Newtown Youth Basketball Association officials helped promote the event which was free and open to girls and boys ages 10-14 as of January 1.

All participants took home a patch and certificate, and the age category winners received plaques. Winners were Allison Indelicato, Lauren Adams, Eric Moore, Adam Bergeron, Colby Olson, and Patrick Heinlein. All advance to the compete at the district level, February 2 in Southbury.
