The Tea @ 3 program was first introduced at Newtown Senior Center late last summer by For All Ages, a Connecticut-based nonprofit. Its mission is to connect generations to end loneliness, reduce ageism, and improve mental, physical, and social health for people of all ages.

The program is set to run again from mid-February to the end of April. The senior center will host another introductory event this month, along with co-host Newtown Cares-Newtown Suicide Prevention Initiative, on Wednesday, January 28, at 10:30 am. Tea and cookies will be served.

Tea @ 3 is an intergenerational program where a 55+ senior is partnered with a college student. They engage in weekly calls and virtual events, fostering connections and friendships across different age groups.

Readers are invited to discover the health benefits of drinking tea and making time for yourself while also learning about the program. Registration forms will be available that morning for those who decide to participate.

Newtown Senior Center members who would like to attend should register through myactivecenter.com.

Nonmembers are also welcome at the free program. Call 203-270-4210 to make a reservation.

For those who would like to register for the new session but cannot attend the January 28 information program, the deadline for signing up for Tea @ 3 is February 11. To learn more and/or to register, contact Maureen Crick Owen at 203-733-4562 or maureencrickowen@gmail.com.

Newtown Senior Center and Newtown Suicide Prevention Initiative invite readers to join them for an introduction to the spring session of Tea @3, an intergenerational program where a 55+ senior is partnered with a college student for weekly talks over tea.
