Adeline Yorio

Adeline (Caserta) Yorio, 92, of Bridgeport, the beloved wife of the late Bennie Yorio, died on January 15 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton.

Survivors include her sister, Josephine Giannettino and her godchild, Rose Pettit, both of Sandy Hook. She is also survived by her beloved daughter, Caroline Wilkinson and her husband, Kenneth, of Wappinger, N.Y.; her loving grandchildren, Kristopher Walkinson of Wappinger, N.Y., and Kenneth P. Walkinson of Rhode Island; her great-grandson, Ian Walkinson of Rhode Island; two sisters-in-law, Mary Caserta of Bridgeport and Margaret Caserta of Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph Caserta.

Born in Bridgeport on May 26, 1911, she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie (Mastrianni) Caserta.

Mrs Yorio was a Bayonne, N.J., resident for 22 years before moving back to Bridgeport, where she lived for many years with her husband, Bennie.

The funeral was held January 20 in St Margaret’s Shrine, Park Avenue, Bridgeport. Entombment was in St Michael Garden Mausoleum, Stratford.

The Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, was in charge of arrangements.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Hospice Program of Bishop Wicke, 580 Long Hill Avenue, Shelton CT 06484.
