Arthurian Legend Workshop And Show

WATERBURY — Shakesperience Production, Inc., will return to The Mattatuck Museum on Sunday, January 25, for a special workshop and performance of The Sword in the Stone. A pre-performance workshop will take place from 1 to 2 pm and the performance will begin at 2:30.

The Sword in the Stone is a retelling of the classic story of the young Arthur, before he became king. His dealings with the natural world, the wizard Merlin’s teachings, and the process of growing up show him, and the audience, that “might does not make right.”

In the pre-performance workshop, children ages 7 to 11 will have fun exploring the tools an actor uses to create diverse characters, such as mime and theatrical expression.

Pre-registration for the program is required. The workshop fee is $25 which includes the performance. To attend the performance only is $5 per person.
