DPH Announces New Online Learning Management System
HARTFORD â The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has launched a new online learning management system. From this central website, Connecticutâs public health professionals can search a comprehensive database of courses and distance learning opportunities and register for these offerings.
This service is free to learners and course submitters. To search, browse, or submit public health learning opportunities, visit ct.train.org.
TRAINConnecticut will provide updated public health training information, identify and track learning of the public health workforce, and reduce duplication of training resources. âEnsuring a competent workforce is an essential public health service and is critical in protecting the publicâs health,â said DPH Commissioner J. Robert Galvin, MD.
The site is part of the TrainingFinder Real-time Affiliate Integrated Network (TRAIN) developed by the Public Health Foundation. Connecticut is one of 22 state affiliate sites that are linked to the network. Learners can search Connecticutâs site to find national, state, and local public health continuing education and training offerings. Learners can search the siteâs listings by more than 40 different subject areas, 33 target audiences, keywords, and over 10 credit types. Information on course content, format, cost and registration is included in the course listing.
The TRAINConnecticut site was developed by DPH in partnership with the Public Health Foundation by a grant from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Public Health Foundation is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to public health research, workforce development programs, and technical assistance.
