Pauline M. Stankey, 63, of Fairfield, died on January 17 at the Northbridge Health Center in Bridgeport.
Survivors include her mother, Madeline Roy of Newtown; three sisters, Madeline Christensen and Mary Stankey, both of Newtown, and Rose Cowell of Southbury; one stepbrother, Robert Roy of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Paul Stankey and sister, Concetta Barnes.
She was a retired schoolteacher in the Bridgeport school system with 38 years of service. Pauline was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and received her masterâs degree from the University of Bridgeport. She was an active member of the RTM.
Miss Stankey received numerous teaching awards during her teaching career and was actively involved in the planning of the Sullivan-McKinney Housing in Fairfield. She was also very active in many charitable organizations and dedicated her talents and time to the benefit of the town.
Funeral services were held on January 20 at Holy Family Church, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was private.
The Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, was in charge of arrangements.
