Singers Invited To Join Chorale For Rossini’s ‘Solennelle’

WATERTOWN — The Waterbury Chorale invites experienced singers to join the chorale for its performance of Gioachino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle on Saturday, April 17, at St John’s Episcopal Church, on the green in Waterbury.

The Petite Messe Solennelle is reputedly one of the finest works composed by Rossini (1792-1868), who was recognized by his contemporaries as the greatest Italian composer of his time.

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7 to 9:30 pm at the United Methodist Church, 305 Main Street in Watertown (at the corner of routes 6 and 63).

Singers interested in joining the chorale for this program may contact Music Director Jonathan Babbitt at 401-682-1630 or Chorale President Sandra Jellinghaus at 860-274-0577. Further information is available on the chorale’s website at www.WaterburyChorale.org.
