Summer Programs At Miss Porter’s

FARMINGTON — Middle-school girls are invited to participate in three summer programs at Miss Porter’s School. Girls entering grades 7 to 9 can join summer boarding programs that combine academics, athletics, field trips and recreational activities, with the opportunity to make new friends.

The Sarah Porter Leadership Institute — June 24–through 27, this program develops girls’ leadership potential and confidence through interactive workshops, presentations, discussions and other hands-on experiences. For more information visit www.sarahporterinstitute.org or call 860-409-3692.

Arts Alive! — June 27–July 23, the program features hands-on activities in the studio, performing. and literary arts. Girls will explore the theme of identity through activities including poem-writing, creating figure drawing, and improvising a character on the stage. Summer Challenge — June 27–July 23, this program teaches girls about science, math, and technology through exploration of fun topics including “Animal, Vegetable or Mineral?” and “Where in the Solar System is…?” The program emphasizes hands-on education and problem solving and field trips to scientific sites in New England.
