Ecumenical Relations

To the Editor:

In this week of Prayer for Christian Unity, I want to thank the Men of St Rose of Lima Church for inviting me to speak, along with Fr Samuel Scott, Pastor of St Joseph in Brookfield, and newly appointed director of ecumenical and interreligious affairs for the Diocese of Bridgeport, and Reverend John Kidd, executive director of the Council of the Greater Churches of Bridgeport, on the subject of Ecumenical relations.

It was a wonderful gathering of men and women in dialogue on this important subject. This was another important step in a commitment to the unity of Christ Church affirmed in the words of Jesus in John 17:21 “that they all may be one.”

As we work toward greater understanding within the Christian Church, perhaps it will help in creating dialogue between all religions of the globe.
