Thanks To The Rescuers

To the Editor:

The citizens of Newtown should be quite proud to live in a place with such compassionate neighbors, and to have a newspaper like The Newtown Bee and reporters like Dottie Evans. When Nancy Sprung asked for help to rescue the abandoned ducks and geese on the Ram Pasture pond, there was no hesitation. I’ve never seen domestic birds rescued so fast, and fortunately before the bitter cold set in.

I’m so happy to have been able to help. My article, “No escape from harsh reality,” is on our website at www.ibrrc.org.

As I always say, you may not be able to save the world, but you can save what is in your own backyard.
