Cherished Memories
Cherished Memories
To the Editor:
There are few memories in this life that will be as cherished as the memories of the Village Barbershop and time spent in the company of âJoe the Barber.â
This world has lost a very special man. There was no finer person than Marino Pelino, aka âJoe.â Anyone who had but one haircut at his shop knew that all too well. He gave a good cut and special treatment to all. He was a friend to all and an enemy of none. He loved his family oh so much and was such a proud grandfather. His family must miss him greatly. I was only a semiregular at the Village Barber Shop, but Joe remembered everything we ever discussed about anything.Â
Joeâs focus was always on family, both yours and his, no matter what your social, economic, cultural, or political status. It once came up in conversation that I was one-half Italian on my motherâs side and that provided an extra little kinship that certainly brought me comfort. Joe was the type of man who found a way to bring a personalized comfort to all who frequented his shop and we are absolutely better people for having known him.
Ciao, Joe! Your will live long in our minds and hearts for you have touched many on this earth.
