Francaise Conversation & Film Programs

SOUTHBURY — Alliance Françaiseof Northwestern Connecticut will offer two public programs this month.

On Saturday, February 17, the group will hold a Café-Conversation program from 10 am to noon at Southbury Public Library, 561 Main Street South. A talk will be presented in French by Edward Tierney, one of the Alliance members, about his experiences in Normandy during a visit last June. Mr Tierney served in France during the Second World War. An extensive photo collection and other related materials will accompany the travelogue.

On Sunday, February 25, at 2 pm, the French film Hiver ’54 – L’Abbe Pierre will be shown at the library. A motion picture about the life and work of L’Abbe Pierre, it was produced by Denis Amar and features Lambert Wilson in the starring role. The duration of the film will be two hours.
