Musical Lunches At February Love & Knishes
SOUTHBURY â It may be cold outside, but guests will warm up quickly at the Love & Knishes Lunches, which resume in February with four weeks of diverse musical entertainment, good cheer, and delicious food catered by Chef Mo Jalil of Cheshireâs award-winning Jordan Caterers. Lunch takes place at noon in the Jewish Federationâs social hall at 444 Main Street North.
Larry and Doreen Ayce Crasilli kick off the monthâs offerings on February 1, sharing a beautiful love story of their own and joining in duets featuring their favorite ballads, country music, folk songs, and popular hits about love.
On February 15, John Kuhner and Manny Lopes of Encore Entertainment showcase their talents on sax, flute, clarinet, piano, and vocals as they fill the room with Big Band and Dixieland music as well as tunes by Gershwin, Porter, and others.
Pianist Jeremy Alston appears on February 22. He is well known as the drummer in Ethel Kaufmanâs band, but today he makes another solo appearance playing piano and singing old standards, some country music and hits from the 1950s.
And on February 29, Jeanne Hinkson and Ercole Gaudioso celebrate âThe Glory of Loveâ as they present a collection of solos and duets made famous by Nat & Natalie Cole, Frank & Nancy Sinatra, Dean Martin & Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett & Diana Krall, Louis Prima & Keely Smith, Sammy Davis, Jr & Carmen McRae, Bette Midler, The Everly Brothers, and others.
All area adults age 60 and better are invited to enjoy Jordan Caterers of Cheshireâs savory, bountiful and healthful hot lunch, which is served at noon and followed by entertainment at 1 pm.
